According to SS 578: 2012, the selection of suitable fire extinguishers depends on the fire hazards expected, occupancy of the building and the effectiveness of the fire extinguisher against the specific class of the fire hazard. All fire extinguishers shall be located in a conspicuous and readily accessible location and the travel distance to any fire extinguisher shall be 15metres or less.
